He has realized at last that imaginary guitar notes and imaginary vocals exist only in the imagination of The Imaginer...and... ultimately, who gives a fuck anyway...So...So... Excuse me...So...Who gives a fuck anyway? So he goes back to his ugly little room and quietly dreams his last imaginary guitar solo...

This is the CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER...As you can see, MUSIC can get you pretty fucked up...Take a tip from Joe, do like he did, hock your imaginary guitar and get a good job...Joe did, and he's a happy guy now, on the day shift at the Utility Muffin Research Kitchen, arrogantly twisting the sterile canvas snoot of a fully-charged icing anointment utensil. And every time a nice little muffin comes by on the belt, he poots forth...And if this doesn't convince you that MUSIC causes BIG TROUBLE...then maybe I should turn off my plastic megaphone and sing the last song on the album in my regular voice...

Cornfield


Only twice I've heard a harmonica that sounds like a "cornfield". Yes it is, a cornfield. The first one is Neil Young alive in After the Goldrush, and the second one once again alive, is Bob Dylan in Just like a Woman. Two diferent songs that has absolutaly nothing in common except the fact that they were recorded in the 60', what means virtually nothing since most of songs we talk about here ere from the sixties.
After the Goldrush talks about aort of an abduction, were a silver spaceship takes the childrien away. Almost a Sci-Fi lyric. Yet visionary remains a taste of folk style, most like a trip instead a novel. Dylan's song is about being a woman, or feels like one. A psycological conflict between body and mind and so on. A typical social Bob Dylan's subject and a very careful harmonica playing also feels like a whole cornfield.

The Sterile Cuckoo




Eis um filme que eu assisti faz ha muito tempo... quase trinta anos atrás, e nessa época o filme já tinha quase dez anos. Só para citar números, eu não dou a mínima para quanto tempo já se passou. O interessante foi ver novamente o filme após tanto tempo. Eu me lembrava perfeitamente da frase "Would you like to peel the tomato?". De certa forma ela fez parte da minha vida. Mas lembrava-me de outras coisas do filme também, claramente. Mas ao assistir tanto tempo depois é claro que eu vejo de uma forma diferente. Eu geralmente não gosto da Liza Minelli (e não me lembrava que fosse ela a atriz do filme... mas sinceramente achei ótimo. Melhor só se fosse a Winona Ryder. É um papel perfeito para ela.) Agora vamos colocar a letra da música tema do filme, que apesar de não ter nada de mais fica muito bem com as cenas. Também não está mal cantada, mas seria melhor com Simon & Garfunkel.
